Merit Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ambasamudram, was started in the academic year 1984-1985 by The Merit Educational and Charitable Trust with a mission to set education on a noble perch accessible to all in pursuit of knowledge and world-class education. It was recognized by the Govt. of Tamilnadu in the year 1995. The school provides a peaceful academic atmosphere for fruitful learning. The lush green gardens with the serene, pollution-free environment, the spacious, airy, and well-furnished smart classrooms in the main building and the Annex and Viscom Blocks, the well-stacked computerized library, and the Computer Laboratory with internet facility pave the way for the attainment of great academic standards. Besides, there are facilities for co-curricular and extracurricular activities that enrich the personality of the students.

This charitable educational trust was established in the year 1984 by Mr. A. Subramanian, B.Sc., and BGL. M.A (Eng), M.A (Pol.Sci.)., M.Ed.,  a leading philanthropist. He is the secretary, dedicated educationalist with sharp academic acumen and futuristic vision. His impartial and able leadership has guided this institution to its present state of fame and glory. The main motive of The Merit Educational and Charitable Trust is to serve the needy. The Trust adopts poor children and offers free education. It also offers assistance and guidance pertaining to higher studies. The Trust also helps them to earn. The Trust motivates the rank holders and toppers by providing financial assistance.
